CONNECTION TO THE SKIN

If the human body would feel more related to what it wears on the skin, what material
could resemble skin in the closest manner?

‘The Future of labels’
We think that in the future, labels could be made out of bacteria material, a kind of
cellulose. With biotechnology the labels will be cultivated and produced. The brand’s
name is not written or woven into the label, but the logos and identity will be
communicated differently. Every brand can choose their own specific bio-formulas.

For brand recognition there will be possibilities in signature appearance like
structure, texture, colour and size. The tactile, visual aspect is the value of the
label. While washing the garments the label/bacteria will dissolve, but will leave the
bio-formula directly on the garment. Therefor the brand signature will always be
visible on the inside and outside.

No cutting out labels, no irritation, but always brand recognition.

To show this innovation that might materialise in ten years’ time, we created a trend
forecasting.
